Dojang History

Hamilton-Fairfield Taekwondo has been serving the community for over twenty years. The school was founded in 1983 by David Huffstutler, Sergeant Major Arnold Huffstutler(U.S Army), and Suzanne Huffstutler at the National Guard Armory on Symmes Road in Hamilton, Ohio as Robert's Karate. The school was named after James K. Roberts, Sr.  who operated a karate dojo in Virginia and provided the original training to the Huffstutler family. The Huffstutler's school originally was very small and essentially operated more as a club than a dedicated training center.  However, over the years, the school has grown significantly.  In 1999, the school moved from the National Guard Armory to the current location on Donald Drive and changed its name to Hamilton-Fairfield Taekwondo.  The school is now one of the largest training centers in Southwestern Ohio and boasts 50 active students and/or instructors with a black belt (1st Dan) or higher.

Hamilton Fairfield Taekwondo helped to create the United Taekwondo Association (UTA). The UTA was formed by four Taekwondo schools in greater Cincinnati:

(1) Hamilton Fairfield Taekwondo;

(2) Smith's Martial Arts;

(3) U.S. Taekwondo Association (Master Tom Federle); and

(4) Ahn's Taekwondo College (Master Kyongwon Ahn).

These schools joined together to promote the art of Taekwondo throughout greater  Cincinnati, to support each studio with training and business tools, and to establish a top quality local circuit of Taekwondo tournaments.

Hamilton Fairfield Taekwondo provides top quality training for beginners as well as advanced students. Every year events include:  school tournaments, black belt exams, fund-raisers for charitable institutions, self-defense seminars for women, overnight lock-ins for students, and most importantly an elite program for Taekwondo enthusiasts six days a week.
